"Get out of bed, Jerusalem! Wake up. Put your face in the sunlight. God's bright glory has risen for you.

The whole earth is wrapped in darkness, all people sunk in deep darkness,

But God rises on you, his sunrise glory breaks over you.

Nations will come to your light, kings to your sunburst brightness.

Isaiah 60:1-3 MSG

Stubborness Scriptures

Psalm 32:9,

Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee.

Proverbs 26:3,
A whip for the horse, a bridle for the ass, and a rod for the fool's back.

A bridle is a harness that goes over the horse's head that is used to restrain or to guide the horse.

A whip is used to strike repeatedly, as with a lash or a rod.  A whip is used to drive or impel to action.

A rod is a thin, straight stick or bar that is used for whipping or for punishment, to correct for wrondoing.

Proverbs 29:15 (NIV)

The rod of correction imparts wisdom, but a child left to himself disgraces his mother.

STUBBORNESS:

Pride & Stubborness Are Companions That...
often travel and are seen together; working overtime, to prevent "one" from humbling themselves and submitting to authority....(following and obeying rules).

When "one" is operating in pride, they are displaying feelings of superiority; you know....they think that they are better than everybody esle, they think that they can do it better than everybody else, they think that they know it all, they refuse to follow directions and are determined to do things their way....which brings us to the Word of the day, Stubborn.

What Does It Mean To Be Stubborn?

Stubborn is to be unreasonably determined to do what "one" wants to do, regardless of the consequences, laws, rules or regulations.

Being stubborn according to webster dictionary is to be unreasonably inflexible, obstinate and willful.

Being stubborn is to be stiffnecked, bullheaded (defiantly sticking to course of action), persistent, difficult to control or handle (resistant) and hardheaded.

What does it mean to be hardheaded?

Hardheaded is to be willfully stubborn, determined not to give in....(example) look at the picture of the little girl above.....see the look on her face?

Boy is she mad!  She has that arrogant, haughty look, with her nose slightly pointed in the air, sending a message that she is not listening to her mothe, neither is she going to give in to her mother's instructions to aplogize to her brother for kicking him.

Determined to have her way, she folds her arms, stomps her feet, talks back to her mother and tells her that she is not going to apologize because her brother deserved it!

Does this story sound familiar?

Has God every asked you to apologize to somebody for hurting them?  Did you humble yourself and apologize or were you puffed up with pride?

Were you stubborn, hardheaded and stiffnecked like the little girl in the picture, as you arrogantly looked up at God with your noised slightly pointed in the air?

Humble is feeling or showing respect and deference toward other people.

Proverbs 29:22-23,
An angry man stirreth up strife,
and a furious man aboundeth in transgression.

A man's pride shall bring him low:
but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.
